BHIS Job Description:

 

The BHIS Provider is responsible for facilitating client(s) growth by promoting skill building in the following areas but is not limited to social skills, communication skills, problem solving skills, conflict resolution skills, and interpersonal relationship skills. The BHIS Provider is aware of and understands the mental health needs of the client and collaborates with the Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA) to develop treatment goals. Service Interventions are written and designed to match the mental health needs of the client. Specific services include Health and Behavior Intervention, Crisis Intervention, and Skill Development and Training.

 

Required Experience and Education:

        Bachelorís Degree in a social services field with:

o   One year relevant experience or

o   Twenty hours of child mental health training (training in the area of mental health assessment and treatment or child with mental health needs, including those with Serious Emotional Disturbances (SED). OR

        Bachelorís Degree in a non-social services field with:

o   Two years of a relevant experience or

o   Thirty hours of child mental health training (training in the area of mental health assessment and treatment or child with mental health needs, including those with Serious Emotional Disturbances (SED).
